General Studies, Business Administration Pathway
Associate of Science
The Associate of Science (AS) degree in Business Administration provides students with a solid educational foundation in fundamental business concepts and skills, making it an excellent beginning for students pursuing entry-level positions in the growing, competitive world of business. This degree covers core business subjects, equipping students with a well-rounded understanding of the business world. Foundational knowledge in accounting, the language of business, as well as the environment of business, computer applications, statistics, and economics are highlighted.
While the AS degree opens doors to entry-level positions, it is designed as a transfer program to the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree with a choice of specialized majors in Accounting, Finance and Applied Economics, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Management, Management Information Systems, and Marketing.
Because many employers prefer candidates with higher levels of education and experience for leadership and managerial roles, graduates can leverage the AS degree as a stepping stone towards the BBA degree or professional certifications to advance careers in business.
